1. The Origin of Christmas Day

Noel, also known as Christmas (Christmas feast) is a celebration of the day Jesus was born.
And according to the beliefs of most Christians, Jesus was born in Bethlehem, in the Jewish state of Judea. It was part of the Roman Empire, sometime between 7 BC and 2.
Christmas is officially celebrated on December 25, but on the evening of the 24th, the Christmas atmosphere is already jubilant.
This is because according to the Jewish calendar, the time to start a new day is at sunset, not midnight. It's surprising, isn't it?
2. The Birth of the Christmas Tree
Ornately decorated Christmas trees with gift boxes are an integral part of the Christmas celebration. But have you ever wondered how this tradition was born?
Usually on the winter solstice, young shoots are distributed as a reminder of the beautiful coming of spring.

People bring those branches home with all respect, cherish and hope for a happy new year.
And that was the origin of the Christmas tree. The Germans were the first to bring home plants and decorate them. In the 1830s, this custom began to be introduced to the United States.
However, it was not until 1848, when the German prince Albert personally decorated a tree for his children and his wife - Queen Victoria for Christmas, that Christmas tree decoration really became a ritual. That tradition!
3. The Mystery of Santa Claus
Santa Claus with a big belly with a snow-white beard is always the hero of the children every Christmas.
Our Santa Claus is based on a completely real character, which is St. Nicholas.
He was a Catholic bishop, living in the fourth century. During his life, Saint Nicholas helped many people – especially women – get out of prostitution.
Not only that, he used his entire inheritance to help the poor. The stories of Saint Nicholas spread widely. He was known as Sinter Klaas in the Netherlands and gradually mutated into the Santa Claus he is today :)
The statue of St Nicholas the Savior is conveyed through the image of a kind, kind Santa Claus who always brings joy with cute gifts – only for the good kids, of course!
4. Santa's Red Suit

The image of Santa Claus in a red suit is always so familiar to all of us. But I will bring interesting information here, Santa's costume is not only the typical red color!
The truth is that the Christmas seasons before 1930, Santa still appeared with extremely diverse colors. Santa's costume consists of red, blue, white and green colors.
However, Santa Claus only really became a legend when he appeared in a Coca Cola advertisement in the 1930s, and of course with a dazzling red suit.
5. The Story of the Socks
Do you wonder why, the stockings hanging by the fireplace have become an immortal symbol of Christmas?
In fact, this lovely thing first appeared in the Netherlands – when children hung up their socks before going to bed. And they will receive Santa's gift the next morning.
The origin of hanging socks comes from a very cute story. There was a poor man who couldn't buy a dowry for his three daughters to get married, so Santa made fun of their family by dropping a bag of gold through the chimney of the house.
Coincidentally, the bag of gold fell on a sock being dried by the fireplace. From there, red socks appeared as a symbol of love.
